IEA/AIE-2007: Instructions for Authors

Paper Format

• The template files and style files are available at the Springer-Verlag page in their 'Lecture Notes in Artificial Intelligence (LNAI)' series, which is a subseries Lecture Notes in Computer Science (LNCS).
• We strongly encourage to use Latex2e for the preparation of your camara-ready manuscript.
• For author's convenience, we have prepared template files (Latex2e) and authors instruction PDF from the above Springer-Verlag page. (These files are downloaded at Oct 12.)

Registration for authors of papers accepted at IEA/AIE-2007

• At least one author of each paper (full, short or poster) accepted for presentation and inclusion in the IEA/AIE-2007 proceedings must pay full registration fees to guarantee publication of their paper in the conference proceedings.
• Authors with more than one paper accepted pay full registration fees plus JPY 30,000 yen for each additional paper.
• Please note that there is no discounted registration available for student authors of IEA/AIE-2007 papers.
• Accepted authors must register and pay by the specified date (-> March 5, 2007). Failure to register before the deadline will result in automatic withdrawal of your paper from the conference proceedings and program.
• Author registration fees are not refundable.
• Only 1 additional page will be permitted for a charge of JPY 3,000 yen (approx. US$25). If your paper (accepted as a 10-pages paper) is 11 pages, please notify it in the Author Registration Form and pay the extra charge. (New)

No-Shows

No-shows really affect the quality of the conference. IEA/AIE-2007 Programming Committee will implement a ZERO-TOLERANCE policy towards No-shows.

• Accepted papers MUST be presented at the conference by one of the authors, or, if none of the authors are able to attend, by a qualified surrogate.
• The presenter MUST register for the conference at full registration fees, and MUST register before the deadline given for author registration (March 5, 2007).
• Certificate of presentation will be given to the presenter at the end of his/her presentation.
• Papers submitted by the authors of No-Show papers at IEA/AIE-2007 will not be considered for the following year's conference.
• Papers submitted by the authors of No-show papers at IEA/AIE-2006 will not be reviewed for publication at IEA/AIE-2007.

Proceedings

• The conference proceedings will be published in a bound volume by Springer-Verlag (the format is shown here) in their 'Lecture Notes in Artificial Intelligence' series.
• Referees will be asked to nominate papers for a Best Paper award to be announced at the conference.
• All papers, but particularly those nominated for the Best Paper competition, will be automatically considered for publication in an expanded form in the International Journal of Applied Intelligence.

Submission of Copyright Form

• The copyright form may be downloaded from the "For Authors" (Information for LNCS Authors) section of the LNCS Website.
• When submitting your camera-ready paper (that is, after the notification of acceptance), please send your signed copyright form to the IEA/AIE-2007 Publicity Chair, either as a scanned pdf or by fax. Scanned pdfs (via e-mail attachment) are preferred. One author may sign on behalf of all the other authors of a particular paper.
