2.3.3 Pair-Wise Classifiers

Let us assume that each set of data to be classified is a set of d real numbers, tex2html_wrap_inline3824 , tex2html_wrap_inline3826 , tex2html_wrap_inline3828 , tex2html_wrap_inline3830 . Such a set we call a pattern, and we call the individual numbers components of the pattern. Any function for sorting patterns into categories is called a classifier.
